PROJECTS 2013

1. WATER:
An essential factor for health is drinking water. Building wells nearby housing places ensure a significant improvement in living conditions. In much the children and women are responsible for fetching water in buckets from nearby streams. The time spent in travelling to and from is too much.
At this moment, we have a tank of 1000 litres.

The involvement of the community in preparation for the construction of the well is essential, as they will help in providing local materials like sand and wood, and largely for selecting the most suitable site for drilling. Any activity of community involvement in health and social development will encourage the maintenance of facilities.

2. SOLAR PANELS
Providing the community renewable energy means that the community will have electricity. We might consider the use of solar panels as an emerging solution to the electric power in the area, but it would be a source of major energy saving and environmental conservation.

3. ENJIPAI WOMEN PROJECT
In the heart of this project we can find the empowerment of women, so that they may find the way to achieve their economic independence with their own effort and work.
This way, they will be able to take care of their families by their own personal means and be an active part of their communities.
Maasai women are good makers of beautiful handcrafts, and working together they can have the opportunity of selling all the crafts, and this will offer them the opportunity to pursue an economic activity in an autonomous way. ENJIPAI will try to show them the way to market their products locally. We may also purchase their products and sell them in Spain.
